Ủy ban xét tài trợ tham dự là một nhóm các tình nguyện viên quan trọng có vai trò rất đa dạng, sẽ giúp điều phối chương trình học bổng theo đúng những "cột trụ" của Wikimania năm nay. Chúng tôi khuyến khích các thành viên từ tất cả các wiki của Wikimedia tham gia đăng ký đảm nhiệm vị trí này, để giúp ủy ban có thể giải quyết hồ sơ đến từ nhiều ngôn ngữ khác nhau.
Công việc chính của các thành viên uỷ ban trước Wikimania 2016 là:
- Tham gia các buổi họp trực tuyến định kỳ với người quản lý chương trình tài trợ tham dự và các thành viên ủy ban khác.
- Xem xét và biên tập tài liệu truyền thông (ví dụ trang wiki về tài trợ tham dự, các câu hỏi liên quan đến việc đăng ký nhận tài trợ).
- Hỗ trợ soạn thảo các điều kiện dành cho ứng viên đăng ký nhận tài trợ.
- Đảm bảo phải xem xét kịp thời và phản hồi lại các đơn đăng ký nhận tài trợ tham dự Wikimania bằng nhiều thứ tiếng khác nhau.
- Làm việc với các nhóm địa phương.
They were selected on the following criteria:
- fluent in written English and have good communication skills, or can name local community member(s)/ambassadors who help them with English translations.
- discreet and able to handle confidential applicant information, and objectively assess candidates.
- willing to review scholarship applications in late 2015/early 2016, estimated time is 30 hours.
- having either or both:
- previously attended Wikimania.
- strong knowledge of the cross-project Wikimedia community.
The committee members will work remotely. The local Wikimania team cannot guarantee financial support for the committee members' travel expenses since scholarship review committee members may not apply for a scholarship themselves.

- Mar 04: Deadline for applicants to respond and accept scholarship
- Mar 08: Registration/accommodation information sent to awardees and WMF travel, etc.

Dear Wikimaniacs,
we are now calling for a scholarship review committee.
This year, we additionally want a scholarship ambassador for each major geography or language, including a representative from each entity which pays for additional scholarships; the ambassadors will be committee observers.
The scholarship review committee is an important and diverse group of volunteers who help to run the scholarship program in accordance with the pillars of this Wikimania. We encourage people from all Wikimedia wikis to apply for this position so that the committee can handle applications in many different languages.
The main duties of the committee members prior to Wikimania 2016 are:
- Participation in periodic online meetings with scholarships program manager and other committee members.
- Review and edit communications material (e.g. Scholarship wiki, application questions).
- Assistance in determination of scholarship applicant requirements.
- Assurance of due consideration and speedy response time to Wikimania scholarship applications in multiple languages.
- Work with the local team.

While we hope that scholarship review committee members will enjoy Wikimania 2016 by giving significant input to it, the local team cannot guarantee financial support for the committee members' travel expenses since scholarship review committee members may not apply for a scholarship themselves.
