Subhashish Panigrahi
Communications Contractor, Programs Capacity & Learning, Wikimedia Foundation
About me
I started contributing to Wikipedia quite sporadically during 2006-2007 and slowed over time. In 2011, I started being actively involved in reviving the Odia Wikipedia. It has been a roller coaster ride since then. I joined for WMF's India Program in 2012 and then its successor Access to Knowledge (CIS-A2K) program at the Centre for Internet and Society. I made a come back to WMF again in 2016.
I am active in several other free and open source and open knowledge communities in many ways.
- Author of “Rising Voices: Indigenous language Digital Activism” in Digital Activism in Asia Reader and winner of 2015 Opensource.com People’s Choice Award.
My work
As a communications contractor at the Programs Capacity & Learning team I will be supporting communications for ongoing projects, with a special focus on outreach for upcoming conferences, mainly Wikimedia Conference 2016 and Wikimania 2016.
